The following is Richard K. Degenhardt's official
obituary extracted from the Asheville Citizen-Times, 
Sunday September 3, 2000, complements of Mr. Max E. 
Norman, B.C.I.S. Honoree.

I would like to thank Max for his thoughtfulness in 
forwarding Dick's obituary such that it may be shared 
with all Belleekers.

I wished to express my sadness in light of Dicks 
passing but, unfortunately, I personally only knew 
of Dick as a Belleeker.   Many of you were privileged 
to know him as the complete person he always was.

What follows will remind us all of the many complex 
facets that made Dick so special to all of our lives
that he touched thru his unselfish devotion.
