Fellow Belleekers !! (lettre # 5.4)
** LATE BREAKING NEWS !! **
** CANADIAN CONVENTION (EVENTS UPDATE) **
I JUST received the following information from a VERY
devoted Belleeker (I QUOTE !!) :
"Now if I may, I would like you to inform all the
people on your email address who might be interested,
of a Belleek Auction in Toronto on July 25th, 2001
the evening before the 2001 Convention starts.
Here are the details :
An auction of more than 500 pieces of Belleek
will be held at RITCHIE"S AUCTIONEERS & APPRAISERS,
288 King Street East, Toronto on Wednesday,
July 25th. at 7:00 PM -- with previewing from
4:00 - 7:00 PM that same day. 288 King St. is
fairly close to downtown Toronto, and is easily
accessible by public transit. Unfortunately,
at this date I do not have details of the items or
the marks, however this information should be
available very soon on Ritchies website :
Ritchie's Auctioneers & Appraisers
Because this auction is not part of the 2001
Convention program our planning committee cannot
be responsible for transportation to this event.
But we would like Belleekers to know about the auction
in case they wish to arrange to come to Toronto a day
early to attend this event.
Del, I know that you have a great list of Belleekers,
and I would appreciate your help in an attempt to
let them all know about this auction, especially
those who plan to attend the Convention and others
who may be in Toronto at that time.
Thank you for your continued assistance, and for all
your previous announcements about the Convention."
May I add that as of this date, the Belleek is NOT
as yet on the Internet for preview, BUT the auction
# is 630 and Richies may be contacted Monday thru
Friday from 9:30AM till 5:30PM Toronto time !!
** UPDATED SALES AND WANTED PAGES **
Well, the following is what I promised in my last
In the next couple of weeks, I will be updating my
lists of FORSALEs and WANTs !! Please be advised to
keep an 'eye' out for when I get this project ALL
I HAVE actually updated my WANTs and am working on
my FORSALE Web Site !!
** CHICAGO SUMMER ANTIQUE SHOW **
I PLAN on arriving August 23rd. and I'll be staying
at the Rosemont Inn adjacent to Chicago's O'Hare
International Airport !!
PLEASE pass this information onto any of your
Chapter members that you either know are attending
or suspect may be taking a holiday to Chicago for
this spectacular show which will be opening
August 24th. and running thru the weekend !!
ALL the information has been posted on my Web Site
under the UPCOMING EVENTS page !!
** I JUST HAD TO INCLUDE SOMETHING ?? **
This is a VERY interesting cup and saucer I was
SO VERY LUCKY to acquire from the purchaser of same
from an auction !!
I call it the Rose and Morning Glory pattern and it
is he ONLY example that I have EVER seen in shades
of blue with orange like flowers and traces of gilt !!
This pattern is normally in shades of green, i.e.,
like NORMAL foliage with bits of grayish on some of
the leaves and again gilt touches !!
It is VERY rare in greens, more less BLUES !!
But this just proves and supports the theory that
there is STILL Belleek and more especially 'different'
items appearing on the market all the time !!
