The BCIS, the Belleek
Pottery |
Dear Collector: It is with the greatest of excitement that I invite you to join us at our 8th Belleek Collector convention in April 2007. This is such a special year for the Belleek Pottery, celebrating 150 years of producing earthenware and fine parian china, another great milestone in its history. This is a history shared in a small part by every Belleek collector. Your love of the fine parian china produced by Belleek over those 150 years has contributed to the continued growth and survival of the Pottery. Many potteries have come and gone during the last century and a half, but Belleek is still a very vibrant company ready for whatever the next century and a half brings. In your collection you may have some pieces from the various periods of our history. Come and walk through the place where those pieces were brought to life by the Belleek craftsmen. Meet the descendants of the original crafters of your Belleek pieces. We have fourth and fifth generations of families still employed at the Belleek Pottery. We have some wonderful things planned for this convention. You'll be out and about over the four nights and three days to see the country side that lends its name to many Belleek items. The walls will talk to you as you take in the history of the Pottery itself and paint or fettle your own unique item. We'll have it fired and shipped home for you, so get some practice in before you come! |
Please be sure to book your accommodation well in advance. The convention hotel will be the Killyhevlin Hotel in Enniskillen, where we will meet on Wednesday Evening and Saturday morning and evening. Since it is not possible for everyone to stay at that hotel, we have offered alternative hotels and transportation between the hotels is scheduled into the events planned. There will also be a follow-on tour of Ireland available for those interested. Please remember that BCIS will be completely electronic as of January 1, 2007. In order to register you must supply an email address, as all contact with you will be via email. Sincerely, Angela Moore, President, BCIS |
